From elegant affairs in private homes, to casual cocktail parties in hotel atriums, and from theater orchestras to studio recording, Jennifer Keller enjoys playing harp for them all. A truly versatile professional, her playing ranges from traditional wedding favorites and sophisticated standards, to time-honored symphonic works and freshly-inked jingles.
She also devotes time to working with student harpists, presenting a workshop titled,"Jazz Harmonies and Stylings for Classical Harpists" at the 2011 Mid-Atlantic Harp Festival in McLean, VA, where she also served on the judging panel for their scholarship competition. Locally, she has coached the student harpists of the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestras, and has taught Music Appreciation at Elgin Community College.
Originally from the metropolitan Detroit area, Jennifer Keller began studying harp with Patricia Terry-Ross of Wayne State University. Six years later, she received a full, four-year scholarship to Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, to study with Elizabeth Richter. After earning her Bachelor of Music degree in Harp Performance, she continued her education at Boston University, studying with renowned teacher Lucile Lawrence and completing a Master of Music degree in Harp. She also spent two summers of intense study with Miss Lawrence at the Tanglewood Institute in Lenox, Massachusetts, in addition to her time in Boston.
